NEXT GENERATION
Drawing from Psalm 78:1-8, we see an ancient history of the people of God choosing to actively pass their faith from one generation to the next.
The best predictor of children or youth remaining in the church after college is whether or not they have relationships with people of faith outside their parents.
It falls not to just some of us, not to a few of us, but to ALL of us to tell the story to the next generation of God’s goodness in our stuggles and in our joy.
PIONEERING SPIRIT
We seek to grow in Christ’s likeness by pursuing a life of power directed towards pioneering new ways to bring the gospel to those who need it most.
We value a pioneering spirit demonstrated by:
A pursuit of growth through connection to Christ
(John 15:4-8)An expectation of miraculous transformation (John 14:12-14)
A commitment to strategic innovation in ministry
MULTIPLICATION
We value multiplication, demonstrated by …
A culture of joyful generosity
A striving towards unity, not uniformity
A commitment to learning our story and sharing it (our life, our faith, and our community)
A willingness to sacrifice our preferences for people
SIMPLICITY
Jesus invites us to an active simplicity, a giving up of distractions in order to make room for what truly matters.
At King’s Cross, we value simplicity, demonstrated by:
A shared striving to live lives that reflect our true priorities, beginning with Jesus
A commitment to excellence over busyness
A commitment to deep, rather than broad, ministry
A culture of equipping and challenging one another to live, work, and love simply
BELONGING
Life today has become dangerously isolated, but God has designed us for relationship.
We value sustaining relationships - belonging - demonstrated by …
Practicing generosity, truth-telling, the making and keeping of promises, and hospitality
Striving to see God’s Image in all people first and foremost
Honoring healthy vulnerability and accountability while resisting the allure of anonymity
Remembering that redemption and transformation is always relational.
Simply put: God wants to have a relationship with you, and so do we.
